FORECAST

FORECAST

Set forecast amount and timing

Configure the independent amount, frequency and timing that determine when an included forecast source creates expected cash movements.

5 min read

BEFORE YOU START

Each forecast source has its own assumption.

The source identifies what you are forecasting. Its forecast settings determine the amount and when expected movements appear.

✓

Forecast Amount sets the expected cash amount

✓

Frequency controls how often the movement repeats

✓

Forecast From determines when the assumption begins

✓

Expected Day controls the expected day of the month

✓

End Date can stop the assumption after a chosen date

STEP BY STEP

Let's get it set up.

01

Open the source you want to configure

In Forecast Settings, select Edit beside an income item or expense category to open its forecast assumption.

Set the forecast amount

Enter the amount you expect this source to contribute each time its forecast movement occurs.

◎

The forecast amount is configured independently. A reference amount does not automatically determine it.

03

Choose the frequency

Frequency determines how often the configured amount is expected to occur after the forecast begins.

Set when the forecast begins

Forecast From establishes the date from which this assumption can begin contributing expected movements.

Choose the expected day

For a monthly assumption, Expected Day determines the day of the month on which the expected cash movement is placed.

Forecast places the movement on that month's final day when the selected day does not exist.

◎

If the selected day does not exist in a particular month, Forecast uses that month's final day.

06

Add an end date when needed

Use the optional End Date when the forecast assumption should stop after a known period. Leave it empty when no end date is needed.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

The configured assumption creates expected future movements.

Once saved and included, Forecast uses the amount and timing you configured to place expected cash movements across the forecast period.

If the expected amount will change later, keep this base assumption and add a future amount change instead of rewriting the earlier period.
