See how your current cash position and configured forecast assumptions come together to show expected future cash movements.

BEFORE YOU START

Forecast is a planning view of future cash.

It starts with your current cash position and applies the expected inflows and outflows generated by the forecast assumptions you have chosen to include.

✓

Current Cash is the starting cash position

✓

Expected Inflows show forecast cash coming in

✓

Expected Outflows show forecast cash going out

✓

Projected Cash shows the resulting expected cash position

STEP BY STEP

Let's get it set up.

01

Start with your current cash

Current Cash provides the starting position for the forecast before future movements are applied.

FORECAST STARTING POINTCurrent Cash
Today
CURRENT CASHAED 40,000Starting cash position
NOWAED 40,000
→
NEXTApply expected movements
◎

Current Cash is the starting point of the projection. It is not itself a future forecast movement.

02

Understand expected inflows and outflows

Included forecast assumptions create expected future cash movements. Inflows increase projected cash and outflows reduce it.

EXPECTED INFLOWSAED 12,000Forecast cash coming in
−
EXPECTED OUTFLOWSAED 8,500Forecast cash going out
EXPECTED MOVEMENTIncome item+ AED 6,000
+
EXPECTED MOVEMENTHousing− AED 2,500
+
EXPECTED MOVEMENTGroceries− AED 1,000
◎

These values represent forecast cash movements generated by included assumptions, not recorded income and expense totals.

03

Read your projected cash

Projected Cash combines the starting cash position with the expected movements inside the selected forecast period.

04

Choose how far ahead to look

Use the forecast period controls to change how far into the future the forecast view extends.

Changing the period changes the forecast horizon you are viewing. It does not change the assumptions themselves.

05

Follow the projected cash balance

The chart shows how your projected cash position may change as expected future inflows and outflows occur.

Review the movements behind the forecast

Upcoming Cash Flow lists the expected movements contributing to the projection and shows the running projected cash position after each one.

THE FORECAST VIEW

One view connects your assumptions to your expected cash position.

Forecast uses the assumptions you have configured to show how expected future cash movements could affect your cash position across the selected period.
