Manage an individual projected occurrence when it happens as expected, changes for one date or should not happen this time.
4 min readBEFORE YOU START
Each projected occurrence can be handled independently without automatically changing the entire recurring schedule.
Confirm when the expected expense actually happened
Edit when this occurrence differs from the schedule
Skip when the expense will not happen this time
Use schedule editing when future occurrences also need to change
STEP BY STEP
View the occurrences for a recurring schedule and select the scheduled date you want to manage.
Choose Confirm transaction when the expected expense occurred and you want to progress it from forecast information into recorded transaction activity.
Review the amount, category and payment source before confirming. Confirmation is the important transition from projected activity to recorded transaction activity.
If only this occurrence differs from the normal schedule, update the information for this date without changing later projected occurrences.
Skip the occurrence when this expected expense will not happen on this date. The recurring schedule can continue with later occurrences.
This occurrence will no longer be expected, while the recurring schedule continues.
THREE DIFFERENT ACTIONS
Confirm, edit and skip solve different situations. Choosing the right action keeps the recurring schedule and your recorded financial activity aligned with what actually happened.
If the amount, category, payment source or timing should also change for later occurrences, edit the recurring schedule instead of editing only one occurrence.
